Summer Learning Journey WK1 Day 4 Activity 3

Activity 3: Salt and Pepper [5 + 5 possible bonus points]
Deep in the heart of Bolivia (a country in South America) lies a natural wonder unlike anything else. It is a massive area of salt, over 10 000 km2 large, that is referred to as the Uyuni Salt Flats.
Tourists who visit the flats often stay in hotels made completely out of salt (salt hotels). This is not the only unique hotel that you will find around the world. In fact, you can stay in hotels made entirely of ice (ice hotels) or glass (glass hotel). Let’s imagine that you were given enough money to build your very own hotel.
On your blog tell us where you would build your hotel and what you would use to build it. For an extra five points, use Google Drawings to design one room in your hotel. You can also use a paper and pencil to draw your room, take a picture of the drawing, and post it on your blog.

My Hotel would be built it Stonefields. There would be a big pool and spa at the bottom of the hotel.

It would be a 4 story. The first floor is the eatery with breakfast, Lunch and dinner.

The second floor would have the rooms along with the third floor. But no one knows what is on the very top floor, the fourth floor….

My hotel would be made of a light maroon concrete, the doors would be made of black polished wood with gold metal door knobs.

Instead of making a google drawing of the room, I made the hotel instead. Take a look!

  1. Hey again Patience, thank you for completing yet another activity!

I have really enjoyed reading your plans for making a hotel. I like that you have described the size of the building as well as the purpose for each floor. The fourth floor sounds rather mysterious and very intriguing. I am certainly wondering what it is used for...?

What sort of food would you serve for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

What is the price per night at the hotel?

And finally, what is the hotel called?

    Thank you,
    Billy.
