Cricket poem-Acrostic

An acrostic poem is a a word that is spelled downward or sideways. Next to the letters that spell you word has a message or word.

Our teacher gave us a choice of acrostic poem, Haiku or freestyle and I chose an acrostic poem

I chose an acrostic poem because, I wanted to write tips on how to play cricket.

Anzac Haiku

We have been learning about Japanese poetry called Haiku.

A haiku is a poem with 3 lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the 2nd line has 7 syllables and the 3rd line has 5 syllables.

I felt inspired by the videos we watched about Anzac soldiers training in Egypt, then landing on the beaches in Turkey. I felt sad because my dad is in the army and I worry that if there is a war he will have to go and fight and he might get hurt.
