This a presentation showing what I have done for my challenge cards instead of summarising. I am reading Amulet;cloud searchers book 3.

An Challenge card is when you get given an activity with a number on it and you do the activity.

My Times table practise

Learning goal-I am testing how quickly I can remember my Basic Facts.

Success criteria-I need to remember my Basic Facts because they are the knowledge I need to help me with strategies to solve Maths problems.

Monday

Today

On Monday I got 32\38 and today I got 34\38. I have done a better job today and improved in my Division facts. Some of the division facts I got wrong, I think I still need to work on my division facts.

My Eggshell Experiement DLO

This is my DLO about what I have learnt throughout my eggshell experiment.

DLO stands for Digital Learning Object. "Learn, Create and share" helped me with my DLO.

I Learned about the enamel of teeth and was able to explain it, Created my DLO with the help of my mum and Shared with my mum and teacher about what I understood.

Today I got 32\38. I was really close to getting 38\38, I only got 6 answers wrong. I need to work on my "Find the Divisor" and my Division.

(I have not done 2 and compared because I didn't do it last week)

Today

Today I got 25\40 and on Monday I got 20\40.I have improved in my subtraction and x÷2 3 5 10   . I need to work on my 1000 and my subtraction to 20.

On Monday last week I got 30\40 and today I got 20\40. Today I got 10 answers wrong and 30 right. I think I did a better job last week then today. I had forgotten my facts and did not asnwer them. I think I need to work on my 1000 and my +÷ 2 3 5 10.

Friday\Today

On Monday I got 46 WPM score 228, today I got 46 WPM score 230. I have much better on my score and typing. I am so glad that I have been practising my typing on Typing.com. I think I need to work on moving my fingers more quickly and remember my commas and full stops.

Friday

On Monday I got 46 WPM score 229, and today I got 46 WPM score 228. I have done a good job today, I think that Typing.com has really help me catch up in my typing. I think I just spell words incorrectly but I take too long to retype the word. 

Next week I will be practising, and I would like to see if I can beat my highest WPM.

Silent Reading

Today I read from page 57 to 73, this is what happend.

After Zombies "embarrassment" he wanted to trick his parents into staying home. He thought he could have a bath and get a human effect.

Before night-time, Zombie went to the lake, just before he jumped in the lake, a old man came up to him, Zombie explained what had happend. The man said just to wash his hands, and it would work. It worked.

Zombie started doing it more often, his mum and dad got so scared that she took him to the hospital. Zombie stayed home for a few days and is going back to school tomorrow.

What's my number?

Learning goal-I am learning that numbers can be shown in many different ways

Success criteria-I can show in my presentation some of the different ways my number can be recorded.

My favourite way is making up a word problem.

In what's my number I had lots of maths problems to solve. They were pretty easy, but some things were slightly hard.


What I found easy 

What I found easy were the scribble line, Word art and when I had to make my number out of playing cards. I found it easy because, I just had to insert an image of my number on the internet and make my own. It was also pretty fun


What I found hard

The slides where I had to expand to my number because, I could not remember how to expand a number. I tried to look up in the internet but I could not find something to understand. So instead I asked someone else. Then I got on with my slides.

What I learnt

I learnt how to expand a number, I also learnt how to add and take away whole numbers faster.

On Tuesday I got 42 WPM and today I got 46 WPM. I got a better WPM and score today because I was focused and I was concentrated.

On Monday I got 54\60, today I got 58\60. I have now gone up a stage! I have gone up to stage 6. I did a better job today because I was focused and I was not distracted.

On Monday I got 41 WPM and today I got 45 WPM, I am very close to a new WPM. I have gotten a bit faster because I am practising my skills in typing. Typing.com is helping me improve my skills, like, teaching me were my fingers go for each key.

PENTECOST means fifty because it happened 50 days after Easter.   PENTECOST is known as the birthday of the Church.  After PENTECOST the apostles hid away and did not speak about Jesus.  There were about 120 people when the Holy Spirit came at PENTECOST.  The first disciples of Jesus were the first members of the Church.  PENTECOST fulfilled the promise Jesus made to always be with his friends.  PENTECOST made it possible for Jesus to live in people through his spirit.  After PENTECOST the apostles forgot about Jesus. Prayer was a very important part of the life of the early Church members.  Red vestments symbolise the tongues of fire that appeared at PENTECOST.

On Monday I got 50\60 and today I got 53\60. I got a higher score today because I was focused and I was not disturbed. I just need to work on my Subtraction to 20.

Today I got 41 WPM and on Monday I got 44 WPM.
I have done a better job on Monday because I was focused and I was concentrating. Today I was very slow and lazy and I was not focused. Typing.com is helping me improve my typing, especially my punctuation.

My Silent reading today

Today I have read from page 63 to 151\end and this is what happend.

For show and tell class had to bring theirs pets, and for some reason their pets looked like them. Bella had a really big dog called "Tiny", Weir brought his pets in and Bella really liked it and he said it was a coincidence because he really really liked Bella. 

After that everyone lined up and raced to the other end of the line. Then the pets did it on their own, Weir took a video on the camera.


Everyone went home and Weir suggested if they can upload the video to the funniest pets. They waited for the next episode, they haven't seen blockhead or Fido, but at the end they said they saved the best episode for last after the adds. They saw the video. IT WAS BLOCKHEAD AND FIDO!

The next morning the family woke up and cameras were flashing because they loved their video so much that they came to their house.

Fido and Blockhead came, blockhead got scared of the lights and flew away. Everyone was looking, they even put some signs up.

There was a call, it was the fire station, they said there was a dog in a shed.


Weir was really excited to go with his dad. They got to the shed, looked inside but there was no dog. They checked again, there was no dog. Fido checked in the bushes and started to bark. Then dad tried to squeeze through the shed a bushes, but he couldn't. Then Weir tried............. IT WAS BLOCKHEAD! They have found block head and a crowd cheers.

My sailing reacount

A crazy day in a boat

Tuesday was a very exciting day. My class were going to go sailing. I was feeling it bit nervous but excited at the same time. We were going to go in the morning and come back in the afternoon.

Everyone got to school we all left in our group's. We got to Okahu bay and the instructor was there the instructor gave us instructions to build out boat it looked easy at first but when me and my partner tried it ourselves, it was so hard.

We got all the easy parts of our boat finished but we had to do our sail and ropes and the “BOOM OF DOOM” almost hit me. The instructor told us to come in but we haven't even finished our boat but luckily Maria came and checked all of our boats.

Then we had to get into gear. We had to wear a wetsuit, a rain jacket over that and a really tight life jacket. When we finished getting changed, I could barely breath, I felt like I was being choked to death.

It was time to go on the water the man said to get in a line up to go on the water. It was our turn to go on the water. When we got on the water my partner was freaking out and I was scream my life out, I screamed so loud that I felt like I was in a horror movie.

I was taking care of the rudder and my partner was taking care of the sail. It turns out that we were coming first, Then we had some lunch, my food was so yummy I wanted to eat more but I knew I couldn’t because I would get a kramp.

The second time we sailed we forgot to put the boar in the middle and I fell out of the boat and my partner left me. I was laughing in my head but angry at him, just then others also forgot and the jumped out of the boat so I helped them push their boat back to shore.

I finally got onto the boat (again). We swapped jobs.

Just then, our instructor flipped all of our boats and we had to figure out how to flip it back over, me and my partner were the first ones to flip our boat back up.

There was so much water in our boat and I was shivering. It was time to go back to shore, so we sailed back to shore, got our trailer and brang our boats back to shore.

I thought the water was going to be just like the beach, but it wasn’t. The water was really deep I felt like I was going to drown, but I wasn’t.

It was time to go home now, I wish we got to have a longer swim and also have another chance to go sailing.

This was a very interesting day. I wonder what will happen when I go sailing again.

 

My Silent reading

Today I have read from page 84 to 143 and this is what happend.

Toby Hogan kicks the soccer ball goes everywhere and goals. It was Weir's turn to kick the ball, he tried 3 times and didn't get it in. So instead he thought maybe he could try-out for goalie. When he tried out he got in.

Then the whole family went to the mall to dance for the contest. They had won, and went home with 2 years worth of dog food. They gave half of it too the chef giving out samples. She had 13 puppies but Mrs Do bought one puppy and called it Fi do.

They go to the soccer game and started to lose, Weir thought about the dance moves and the ball never got into the goal. Weirs school won.

My Silent reading

Today I read from page 92 to 98 and this is what happend.

The Banner said "MY MAGIC WILL SOON STRIKE AGAIN. WHEN THE EAGLE FLIES, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MASK WILL BE MINE!".

 The group was wondering what it meant so they went to a cafe to discuss it. They got served golden fritters with powdered sugar on top. Colette asked what the eagle flies meant. Maro said it is a event in the carnival. Someone in a costume jumps off the big tower. The thea sisters were surprised, then Marco said that there were harness.
